Creating a blog

Why? I'm in the midst of moving and apparently felt a great need for yet another diversion. I had heard about this website from a friend who said it was fairly easy, so I thought I'd give it a try.

I'll probably be tinkering with the set up of it for awhile, and then I'll get interested in something else and this will sit in the back of the cyber closet, collecting dust.

During the very easy process of setting this up, I did feel as though I was also getting an eye exam. There is a place where you have to enter the letters just as they appear. But the letters don't appear normally. They are somewhat skewed and apparently, I got a couple of them wrong, because it took me a number of tries for my entry to be accepted.

For those of you wondering why I chose "Slyeyes", it's because "Donna" and any and all variations of my name have already been taken.

OK, I'm going to post this and then get to work cleaning my closet in preparation for moving. If you don't see me back here anytime soon, send help.

I'm trying to figure out how to set this up so you don't need to sign it. The instructions tell me to go to "settings", etc....but I can't find the menu them instruct me to go to.

grrrrr. I should be dealing with my closet, but NOOOOOOO, I had to find another distraction.

Hey Sly! It's a great start for your blog. Have fun with it. Tinker around with the settings and things and post pictures.

Hey! I was first but couldn't register, but I'm not bitter, I just needed to mention it! :)

Way to go , sly! I'm really looking forward to this!

Sly, I think the reason you did it is something Jackie found out while teaching. If you want to get something done you don't go to the person doing nothing but lazing around but rather to the busiest person you can find.

Anyway, good luck with it.

And is the closet really that bad?

Instructions for transporting closets from house to house...

Equipment
Depending on the size of the closet, 2 - 4 large boxes and the back seat of your car.

Instructions (Presuming 2 boxes.. multiply as needed)
In first large box, put everything from the floor of the closet. In second large box, everything from the sweater shelf. Leave all clothing on hangers and lay across the back seat of your car. Drive to new house. Take hung clothes and put them in new closet. Go back to old house and get the two boxes you forgot to put in the car. Tip the floor box out on the floor of the closet, put the things from the sweater shelf box on the sweater shelf/shelves. Look at the unholy mess and repeat your Scarlett quote.

We are amused.

Oh.. then repack the two boxes, drive to the new house, and tip out again.

sly, you have moved into a special class of elite procrastinators. You are in some very exclusive company. Douglas Adams, for one, was a procrastinator or legendary proportions. His editor finally rented him a hotel room without a TV or phone and no Internet--and made him stay there until he finished his book. It's a level of procrastination prowess that we lesser mortals can only aspire to.

I have a theory about procrastination, but I can't go into it right now. I'll tell you about it later.

:)

sly, I hope I'm not putting off checking your blog when you tell your theory!! :)

oh goody--I'll wait here for your procrastination theory--beats working!

Kaf, were you around last time I moved? That's exactly how I move things.

And then there are the boxes that I haven't unpacked since my divorce 17 years ago...... But I keep moving them.

I have a friend Andy in New Jersey who finally had to buy a much bigger house just to store all his stuff. When you'd go to his old house you'd have to turn sideways to get through the piles of stuff in the garage. Thousands of books, old tv shows and movies (reels of stuff before videotapes and DVDs), magazines, comics, etc. you name it.

I have other friends who love Andy as they can use him as an example to their wives: "See, I'm not nearly as bad as he is!"

At my kids' urging, I've downsized. However, they haven't come to get their stuff; so I'm cramming almost as much stuff into a smaller place.

GIRLS, THAT'S A HINT!!!!
